She's famous for the skin-tight rubber dresses she likes to wear.

But when Katy Perry was choosing what she should wear to perform on Italy's version of The X Factor, she perhaps hadn't taken into consideration that she would have to sit on a giant banana.

That was the conundrum that 25-year-old Katy faced last night as she arrived on the set of the show wearing a figure-hugging pink rubber dress with her new favourite Chanel striped wedges.

But, ever the professional, Katy managed to maintain her modesty by steadying herself with her hand as she sat on the giant prop for her interview.

And while the dress showed off Katy's amazing figure, which she has worked so hard to achieve ahead of her wedding to Russell Brand later this year, the singer admitted she wasn't feeling particularly body-confident.

She wrote on her Twitter page: 'ITALY! I'm on #xfactoritaly tonight! The show's already started, I go later! I've eaten everything in sight tho, feel like a beached whale:)'

She was told to take it down a gear after her debilitating bout of malaria - but Cheryl Cole already appears to have her foot on the accelerator when it comes to her work schedule.

The Fight For This Love star has just arrived back in the UK after a month recuperating in Los Angeles with close friend, dancer Derek Hough.

But the 27-year-old star has already been spotted leaving a West London photoshoot studio - that used to be a car factory.

The X Factor judge was seen leaving the exclusive Sunbeam Studios in Ladbroke Hall yesterday, and its thought the star was having publicity shots done for her new album campaign.

The old building, with its high ceilings and lots of natural light, used to make Talbot motors at the start of the 20th Century, hence the studios being named after the marque's old make of car.

Despite looking casual in white jeans, black and white striped jumper and pinstripe jacket, Cheryl is certainly motoring on with the next stage of her career.

Despite doctors' orders to take it easy as she gets over the killer disease she caught on holiday with Hough in Tanzania, she thought to have finished work on the follow-up to 2009's 3 Words while still in California.

Just days at Demi Moore sent the Twitterverse into a frenzy with her candid bikini shots, boy band JLS has decided to follow suit.

The X Factor runners-up gave their fans a sneak peek of a raunchy new photoshoot, which sees the four-piece showed off their toned six packs.

JLS singer Marvin Humes posted a photo of bandmates Aston Merrygold and Jonathan 'JB' Gill sitting in just their trousers on the group's official Twitter page.

He wrote: 'What's up peeps how's your Saturday?! The boys and I on a shoot... thought you'd appreciate the pic.'

Clearly relaxing in between shots, Gill, 23, and Merrygold, 22, appeared to be passing the time by playing on a Nintendo Wii.

But there was no sign of Ortise Williams or Humes topless - perhaps the latter is saving his toned torso for his girlfriend Rochelle Wiseman's eyes only.

Humes has been dating The Saturdays singer Wiseman since February and the couple are already moving in together.

She exuded a confidence far beyond her tender years as she strutted around the stage during her X Factor audition.

But Cher Lloyd is the subject of concern among show insiders, who fear the teenager may not be tough enough to cope with the demands of the contest.

Fellow contestants have worries for the size six singer's health after she appeared 'frail and vulnerable' at the second round of auditions, Boot Camp, which has not yet been screened.

Cher, from Malvern, Worcestershire, was 16 when she auditioned for the ITV talent show earlier this year.

She sang and rapped to Turn My Swag On by Soulja Boy, and was put through to the next round after judge Cheryl Cole enthused: 'You are right up my street! You are actually my favourite audition so far.'

But a source told the Daily Mail of the boot camp auditions: 'Everyone was worried about Cher, she was extremely nervous and shaking at some points.

'She is quite bolshy on stage, but she sat by herself at lunch. She didn't eat much and looked frail and vulnerable as she was accompanied by a member of production.

'If she gets through to the live shows next month - which she is a shoo-in for - she will have to be given a bit of extra special attention. She is very young.'
