She became the nation's sweetheart with her bubbly personality and unaffected charm in last year's X Factor.

So the diva who appears in a new fashion photo shoot is almost unreconisable.

Staring down the camera with a fierce glare and confident pout, Stacey Solomon is far removed from the sweet girl from Essex we came to love.

Looking at home in an assortment of fashion-forward outfits including a tweed blazer and leopard-print pants, the 21-year-old has come a long way from the denim shorts and T-shirt she first appeared on our screens in.

Stacey models high-street clothing in a spread for this week's Closer magazine. The mother-of-one thoroughly enjoyed spending the day dressing up and being pampered, and said of the shoot:'I love it, I'm going straight out to buy it all. The high street is amazing these days.'

The future of The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent is in doubt after Simon Cowell admitted his still had not signed a contract for next year.

He said he had only agreed to do the American X Factor next year and had yet to decide if he even wanted to do the British shows.

The music mogul added that even if he agreed to do the shows, they would have to move to accommodate his US plans.

He told the Daily Mail said: 'At the moment you are only going to see me do one show - [and] it is not in England.'

'We have to make a decision if we can make the shows better. Do people want [them] back?

'There has got to be a mood here for these shows, and I have always been very conscious of that. You can't force anything.

'And it has got to be fun, the minute it stops becoming fun, bye bye.'

'Genuinely I am going to take this week by week because it is about mood. That is how I feel.

'I may wait till the end of this show to decide, exactly. Look, at the end of the day you are led by your audience, if they are enthusiastic and they want more, you do it.'

This year's series of The X Factor has pulled in bumper ratings with 12.5 million watching Saturday night's episode.
